Nealy Farm, LLC originated in Dunnellon, FL in 2002, where my wife and I owned & operated a successful 100-acre B&B tree farm for 16 years selling to landscape contractors, brokers and nurseries throughout the state of Florida.  As we became increasingly tired of the Florida heat and dealing with hurricanes, we sold our property in 2018 and moved to Blairsville, GA, where we operate a hay farm. Over the past few years, through conversations with friends who are still in the tree business, the need for step-up tree material became apparent. Since we had grown most of our own step-up tree material in Florida, this presented as a good venture for us to utilize our experience and diversify our farm here in Georgia. Our property already contained 2 long concrete slabs that were remnants from old chicken houses, which created an ideal place to start a nursery.  So, in 2023 plans began to formulate, in 2024 all the necessary infrastructure components were put in place to grow 3-gallon trees, and in early 2025 our first liners of predominantly native trees were planted. 

Our growing season begins in late winter, potting up liners while they’re mostly dormant, providing and maintaining a premium environment to encourage growth and support healthy root systems. Our best management practices focus on sound structural pruning techniques with our focal point on a finished quality product that’s ready for the next step-up in the fall.
